2016 Pioneer Award
Beth Stuever, Michigan State University Extension

Beth Stuever, the Communications and Marketing Team Leader at Michigan State University Extension (MSU), is an experienced marketing communication leader, public relations strategist, writer, and photojournalist.

She leads an award-winning team of communicators and marketers in research and strategic planning of statewide integrated public relations and online communication campaigns. She has improved relationships with stakeholders by demonstrating that MSU Extension is responsive and swift in serving their needs.

When MSU’s administrative team challenged her to come up with a means to help extension educators add value to their agricultural programming, she quickly assembled a team of Internet technology experts, graphic designers, and writers to recreate MSU Extension’s online presence. The team took the project from concept to launch in less than six months. Two months later, it was the most-visited site within the MSU College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, with nearly double the traffic of the next most-popular site.

Stuever was engaged when MSU hosted the ACE conference in 2008. She actively presented at multiple conferences and engaged with the SIG/Learning Communities. She supports her colleagues and team members to engage with ACE and provides resources for them to participate in the annual conference. She currently serves as secretary to the Leadership and Management Learning Community.
