ACE Marketing SIGSample Marketing Position DescriptionsMarketing Communications Specialist (Extension Marketing) Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, English or related communications field is required; an advanced degree is desirable. Five or more years experience in marketing, public relations, corporate or non-profit communications is required; additional related experience is desirable. Experience in educational marketing/public relations, especially within the Cooperative Extension System, prefrerred. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, oral and written communication skills required. Demonstrated skills in strategic communications planning; copy, feature and promotional writing; coordination of publication production; generalist experience in more than one media. Ability to manage multiple projects for delivery in a timely manner and within budget. Skill in use of personal computer and basic desktop publishing required. Administrative Relationships: Works as a member of the marketing team, with the guidance of the team coordinator and under the direction of the Agricultural Communications unit head. Major Job Responsibilities: Provides leadership for and support of the statewide Extension program and its outreach education efforts, including assessing program needs, planning and coordinating production of marketing materials and identifying resource materials for staff of statewide Extension program. Consults and works with Extension administration and program units to plan and produce marketing/prmotional materials for targeted audiences. Creates and produces communications designed to showcase accomplishments and accountabilty of the Extension Service. Conducts training on marketing procedures and tactics for state and county faculty. Performs other duties to support marketing team projects needed.
Marketing Communications Specialist (Strategic Organizational Communications) Education: Bachelor's degree in journalism, agricultural journalism, English, speech, public relations, marketing, advertising or other relevant communications or agricultural field required. Master's degree in a communications field preferred. Experience Required: Minimum of five years successful professional experience in corporate, higher education, government or non-profit communications. Demonstrated skills in writing. Experience coordinating publications and other communications projects from concept through production. Skilled in use of personal computer and desktop publishing software. Experience Preferred: Experience with agriculture, agribusiness, natural resources, environmental organizations or issues. Experience working with, and in direct support of, an organization's leadership. Experience in one or more of the following areas: internal communications programs, including in-house newsletter production; producing annual reports and/or a magazine; interpreting scientific or technical information and writing for lay audiences; marketing; presentation graphics skills; or electronic publication processes. Major Job Responsibilities: Work with marketing team members in strategic communications planning and execution of an internal communications program and external communications for the Agriculture Program. Write/edit and manage publications production of brochures, reports, newsletters and a magazine or annual report. Develop communications targeted to specific audiences, constituencies and regions. Contribute to a variety of communication tasks handled through the marketing section, depending on individual skills. . |
