Professional Award
Description | Nomination Form (Word document)| Past Winners
The Professional Award is the highest recognition given by ACE to one of its members.
The award recognizes excellence and professionalism. It is based on achievements over an extended
period (at least three years) and on participation in and support of ACE. Members must be nominated by a fellow member to
be considered for the award.
Nomination for the award shall include a general description of the member’s job, specific accomplishments in
carrying out job assignments, indications of impact of member’s communication efforts, participation in and service to
ACE, and other achievements which document the excellence of professional competence. A nomination shall be made by
submitting a completed nomination form to the ACE president by February 18.
Selection of the recipient will be made by a panel composed of a past Professional Award recipient and the presidents
of national agricultural communication organizations: American Agricultural Editors Association, National Association of
Farm Broadcasters, Newspaper Farm Editors of America, and the Agricultural Communicators in Education. When a president cannot
serve on the selection committee, he or she may designate a member to serve in this capacity. Judging shall be completed by February 28.
The ACE Professional Award recipient will be recognized during the annual national meeting and will hold a special position of
honor throughout the following year as ACE’s top professional.
