The CSREES Communications Staff manages the full spectrum of communication responsibilities including news releases, print and online publications production and distribution, list management, Web site communication and marketing, exhibits development and maintenance, editorial services, and more.
As the senior Information Technology Specialist (Internet), you will provide sound leadership, expert assistance and authoritative advice, relative to the development of appropriate Web policies, methods, standards, and products, on how best to use Web technology to communicate to our audiences. Additionally, you will make recommendations on the scope and parameters of optimal Web communication tools and techniques and evaluate those efforts to recommend improvements in the technical and communication aspects of the Web site. Finally, you will maintain primary responsibility for planning, conducting and managing CSREES' Web analytics efforts, and performing quantitative and qualitative analyses necessary to support Web site operations and strategy formulation.
You will serve as the managing editor of the CSREES Web site responsible for the day to day operation of the Web site and development of new Web site features and functions. These tasks require considerable coordination with the Web site executive editor, who is responsible for the overall management of Web site content; Web editors; subject matter experts; Web developers; program unit information coordinators; and IT staff.
The Web site is the Agency's primary vehicle for communicating comprehensive, up-to-date research, education, and extension program and grant information in the food and agricultural sectors to a broad audience.
