Ralph L. Reeder

Ralph Reeder was born August 1, 1910, in Trenton, Nebraska. He received an A.B. degree in journalism from the University of Nebraska in 1934.

He joined the Purdue information staff at West Lafayette in 1950. At the time of his retirement in 1975, he was head of the department of agricultural information. When he retired, he was named professor emeritus of agricultural communications. Prior to Purdue, he worked for the Nebraska Farmer and the Colorado Rancher & Farmer magazines. He was also alumni editor and agricultural editor for the University of Nebraska.

For more than 35 years he served as a fund raiser and writer for the Cedars Home for Children, Lincoln, Nebraska. From 1942 to 1945, he served in the Navy at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

He was a life member of ACE, and in 1977 he received ACE's highest honor for a member, the ACE Professional Award. He died in Solana Beach, California, March 1, 1986. He was 75.
