VII. Distance Education and Instructional Design
A distance education project is an organized set of instructional objectives, activities and processes designed to be presented to learners who are separated (in space or time) from the instructor or from a traditional on-campus classroom. Instruction could be mediated through the mail, audioconferencing, audiotape, videoconferencing, videotape, satellite, computer, Internet, DVD or other appropriate technologies. An instructional design project represents the systematic application of instructional principles to achieve effective learning. These design principles can be used in both formal and informal learning environments. All entries in this category should include representative samples of the instructional materials or delivery methods used, such as course notes or handouts, audio, video, DVD, software, WWW addresses, needs assessments or final evaluations.
