Jodi Breisler covers the nation's capitol for public radio affiliates across the country for Capitol News Connection with Public Radio International. Breisler recently spent a couple of years as the news director at KRWG-FM in Southern New Mexico. There she covered anything and everything from illegal border crossings and the femicides in the Mexican border city of Juarez to cockfighting and desert flooding in the world's chile capital. She also taught radio reporting at New Mexico State University. Prior to that, Breisler worked as an assistant producer for Bloomberg Television's "Money & Politics," as a mobile blog reporter at the Republican National Convention, and gave a weekly webcast on foreign exchange for Market News International. Before earning her master's in journalism at Columbia University, Breisler worked as a policy advisor/deputy campaign manager for a member of the Scottish Parliament. She also earned a master's degree in international and European politics at the University of Edinburgh while on a Rotary ambassadorial scholarship.
