The collaboration between ACE and communicators at the Press Video Center, Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Russian Federation, began in 1998. The partnership has provided invaluable opportunities for cooperation and information sharing, and has benefited all involved.
ACE members in the United States and other countries have had the chance to learn about their Russian counterparts and the communications issues they face. Communicators and technologists in Russia, many of whom are now ACE members, are linked to a network of their peers from around the world.
ACE and the Press Video Center are joined by an official agreement of cooperation that spells out how the organizations work together, including exchanges of materials, networking, professional development and visits/exchanges of staff. The initial agreement also called for a Russian agricultural communication professional association. That goal was achieved with the creation of an ACE charter affiliate organization in Russia – the first ACE charter ever established.
Agreements of Cooperation
The partnership between ACE members and Russian communicators and technologists at the Press Video Center was first defined in the late 1990s in a memorandum of understanding and an initial agreement. A five-year agreement of cooperation was signed in July 2000; annexes, or plans describing how objectives would be achieved, also have been signed since.

Charter Affiliate
In May 2001, during the summit in Russia, a banquet and ceremony officially launched ACE’s first-ever charter membership. Twenty-three Russian agricultural communicators signed the charter document and became affiliate members.
